slow loading, slow rendering, what gives?

I was wondering if anybody can help me. I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 and lately I've been experiencing atrociously slow loading and rendering times. It wasn't always like this. Before I upgraded to Pro 2.0 I was using Version 7 and I remember a time when it would render at top notch speed, then gradually became dreadfully slow.

Is there a cache that can be emptied to help restore the speed of the software or something, anything?

Also my after effects has been exporting my files with a bluish tinge to it, I didn't ask it to. I hate life. Thanks in advance for any help.

For pro, i think in edit - preferences - general - (at the bottom) change it from performance to memory. I had the same problem. it seemed like it was giong faster.

that would be the quick fix
