Slog color management in Vegas 12

Hi,
I've been playing with the color management and Slog footage on vegas 12 and I'm surprised at how much better footage looks when using the color management. Results are so much better than just grading the footage as usual.
Now I'd like to know if other people are giving this a try. I can only seem to be able to export the edit on avi sony YUV codec if using the Slog workflow, otherwise I'm getting bad results (tried QT, aja and blackmagic codecs).
Anyone testing this?

I've been playing a bit with the ACES color management, and I´m getting interesting results. Judge for yourselves:

Slog footage:

Same Slog footage with ACES default linear color space:

Same Slog footage with ACES default linear color space plus a F35 LUT:

So as you can see it´s the very same shot, interpreted in different ways. Can I achieve the look of the 2nd and 3rd version by grading the raw footage? Close but not quite the same. Colors look more natural with the ACES color management on, and what´s best, Slog footage is ready for editing without the need of applying any grade.
Downsides for now: only option to export is 10bit YUV avi codec. Grading in linear 1.0 is quite impossible, although we can switch to 2.2 gamma grading and things then get normal, except the curves FX which seems to clip the signal.

Hi there. Lovely images. Would you mind please sparing a moment to tell me your workflow with S-LOG footage and vegas 12? Your results there look great. Which fx are you refering to when you say ACES colour management please? And how are you applying the F35 LUT. Thanks, Sparky!

Yeah, that white paper is a bit confusing.
Basically as far as I got was setting the project at 32bits full range, gamma 2.2, aces on SRGB, then properties of the clip on F3/F35 lut. THen the footage already looks good (maybe slightly contrasty depending on the scene). Then you just grade as you would normally do.
The benefit of this is that you can edit the Slog footage with the F3/f35 lut on, which helps to better see the footage.
The curve FX seems to clip the signal, not good.
And other than that, I haven´t spent much time yet with this workflow. In a couple of weeks I'll give it a try to see if it's really worth it.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Have you been able to render out what you see in the preview window when the project is set to SRGB and clip properties to F3/F35 lut? When I render out the clip - it doesn't retain the look than I saw within vegas ? Am I missing something? Did you just do a frame grab from the timeline to obtain the lovely shots you posted on this thead? Thanks!
