Ok, I'm sure you guys were thinking the same thing I was at first--This movie looks like ****.

All my friends thought that, at least, and i was inclined to agree. But then I found Nathan Fillion was in it, and saw a trailer and figured it might be worht a shot.

Then i noticed it had 85% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, and even Ebert's bad review seemed complimentary. So I decided to see it.

I was pleasantly surprised.

There's not much in the cinematography category (the last few i saw have been really good looking), but it makes up for it in a fun (very fun) script with obviously over the top but likeable characters, cheesy but fun creatures, and a good amount of laughs for what seemed like a lack of any real jokes.

I can't get enough of Nathan Fillion-- he reminds me of a Han Solo type guy after Serenity and this movie. I hope he starts doing more stuff that doesn't totally blow (White Noise 2? What the heck, man?). Him and the Mayor were really good in this movie. Elizabeth Banks was also nice to look at, as was the teenager in the movie (I myself am a teenager, so I believe I am allowed to proclaim this)

this was a great movie I had fun the whole time. the ending made me laugh but not the good type of laugh but the rest was hilarious. good movie

James Gunn is a former Saint Louisan... graduated from SLU... we were getting emails locally about this movie for a while and I didn't want to mention it because I thought it was going to be rediculously terrible.

I'm feeling relieved. Thanks. For some reason I always liked "Tremors" and that would be cool if Slither is like that... only more intense. Sounds like it is.

Although I was hoping it was a better film ( or maybe I didn't think it was as great cause the wife wasn't digging it. It definetly had it's moments. Fillion is pretty funny as is the Mayor. I guess I really liked the idea but was hoping it ended up with better execution....

P.S. the teenager in the film ( bathtub scene ) is pretty nice to look at, and she's 23 in real life so I don't feel bad saying that.....
