Slideshow Troubles Again...

I know I posted questions about making a slideshow in AE and I need to figure out something really quick cause this is taking forever.

What I have is 400 photos, already resized so the longest angle is around 800 px. I have them all inside of AE. I know that I knew how to do this once before so dont say you cant. I put all the pictures in a comp and now I want it to setup so it spans through all the pictures at an even amount of frames to get to the end until the timecode is over that I set it at. How can I make it automatically do that?

Someone just PMed me this info :

ctrl a to select all layers. Then go to animation, keyframe assistant then sequence layers, choose transition and done, instant slide show

But I have 238 images spanning the whole 5 min timeline and I did what the above said and it only faded through 2 images through the whole timeline. HELP!!! ???

Please! I need this done before friday cause im going on leave for 2 weeks!

I am so sorry, but I cannot use these scripts too. I just know that those are able todo this.

have you selected all of them?

In Vegas, this would be a snap, and even the DVD Architect has an extremely easy automated slide show option.

Why are you trying to do this in a FX program, and not a NLE or other?

Well it is supposed to be extremly easy inside of AE. All I have at my disposal right now is AE and AVID and if you want to get down to it, I have adobe premiere 5.1 on this computer as well. LOL. But those are the only programs at work. I have Vegas at home but that is there, this is here. Help?

Sorry, if I knew AE, I'd tell you. So far I've figured out how to launch the program, but have never taken the time to learn it, and have just always done everything inside of Vegas.

do sequence layers, as you mentioned above. Works like a charm. You just have to set your specifics in that pop up (overlap time, etc). Also, make sure your layers are only a few seconds long, not the length of the comp before you do this.

So in AE, would he actually have to have 238/400 seperate layers created just to do this?

OT, kai, I LOVE your avatar. Probably one of my favorite I've ever seen!!!

Its easy, all you do is drag all the pictures in. I tried almost every possible thing with the sequence layers dialog box, nothing works. I even tried with the images being short and not the whole timeline. Can you tell me the exact setting for making it do it across 5 minutes? with like almost 300 pics? HELP!

I'm jumping in a little late, but in case you haven't worked it out yet you should multiply the total time (including dissolve) you want each picture to play by the number of pictures. This is how long your timeline must be. Select all your pictures and drag them into the timeline and make them the determined length. With all layers still selected open the keyframe assistant>sequence layers dialog box. Choose a duration for the overlap and if your pictures are not all the same aspect ratio for transition choose cross dissolve back and front. If you have 300 pictures to play in 5 mins. that's only a total of 1 sec. play time for each picture including dissolve.
