Slider using Cabinet rails??

anyone ever tried this? went to my local home improvement store looking for anything i could potentially make a slider out of....only came up with some cabinet rails. i think theres potential here for something cheap but who knows. gonna experiment this weekend
 
i tried and it works, but it has nowhere the smooth or accuracy of what you get from an igus rail.
the rail is a cheap solution if you can get some for free, if you have to buy it could be only half cheaper, but 10 times less performant.
