Slider tips needed

Hi Guys,

I picked up a little Varavon 24" Slider the other day and try as I might I cant seem to get a usable shot.
I have tried it on the tripod, on the ground, with a gh1 (really shaky) or with an AF100 (better but still shaky) and every shot is shaky.

I have been using a manfrotto ball head, a decent one, its all screwed down tight. But every shot is rather shaky. The gh1 is so jittery that I can't see it ever being usable. has any one got some tips? Surely I am doing something wrong...

Just as a note, I broke out my cinevate atlas 10 with the same ball head and cameras to eliminate as many variables as I could and its great, solid as a rock and smooth as silk.

not a lot of "tips" to give. if you can get good results from one tool and not another. seems to me that its either a situation of a substandard product or learning its idiosyncrasies and practicing to work with them...

its been my personal experience that i get better and easier results from the cheaper friction-based sliders than i do from the expensive, bearing or geared rigs.
