Slider Cases

Has anyone gotten or had a case made for a slider? I come from the touring industry and I HATE riders ie; loose items not in a case. I would really like to get a case for my slider rail and head so that it isn't just bouncing around loose. I was even thinking about making a case that would hold a dedicated tripod for the rig as well. It looks like some of the bigger Pelican gun cases may fit the rail and carriage alone but not the head. So has anyone done this or will I be designing an ATA case?

I needed to take one light stand on a flight and I thought it would be nice to have a soft case for it. So I made the clever choice of finding a nice shotgun case that fit perfectly. Unfortunately, even when they KNEW it was not a fire-arm the airport people handled it separately from the rest of the luggage (probably because of the form-factor, they didn't want it to jam the works). So the bottom line was that I spend a lot of time hanging around the luggage office waiting for hand-delivery of my light stand (after everyone else was on their way) :-(

OTOH, on other gigs where I needed more stands, one of those traveling golf-bag cases was great.

I've used a Gun bag for mine, slide it in and zip it up! Others have used tripod bags, ski bags & gun socks. My short 700mm rail fits right in my tripod bag with the tripod. For hard-shell, see above.
I have contacted a few bag manufacturers about a nice padded, soft-shell bag, but their quotes have been too high to make it realistic.
