Re: skycrane jr., time to set up? heavy?

well, here is me answering my own posts again..but I put it out there:

talked to Bob Jones maker of skycrane. Nice guy!

4-8 minutes to set this up. (Matthewd5 confirms) One person can do it, but you need two in order to move it.

fits in a snowboard bag.

recommends Varizoom on camera LCD and bogen 3051 ( check ebay )

and check this out!:

4-8 mins sounds about right. I don't own a skycrane, but I do own a cobracrane and its no different. They both do the same job. It's always good to have more than one person handling that thing. Once you start putting weights you better have another person present. You definitly don't want your DVX or whatever camera you won to fall and crash to the floor. just my 5 nickles.

Man, those were the poorest, shakyest crane moves I've ever seen. Are they trying to sell that thing?

You thought? maybe I better look again. The guy who designed it was shooting...

Re: skycrane jr., time to set up? heavy?

That tree move, it seems the camera is going to fall from the crane at the start of the movement, but it could be the web compression, because if those videos were that bad, noone would be trying to use them as promo.

I'm going to try again too.

Re: skycrane jr., time to set up? heavy?

those shots looks kind of bad to me, they're...not that smooth, it kinda jaggy looking why does the camera tilt like that?

Re: skycrane jr., time to set up? heavy?

I just viewd the clip and it looks kind of jerky. That didn't look to good pooh. Youo might want to get something else. Cobracrane maybe?

Re: skycrane jr., time to set up? heavy?

That footage is ugly for promotional purposes. At least fake it :-/
