Skipping error in FCP 5.0

Am and Avid editor who occasionally cuts on FCP depending on the job criteria. Today after a 4yrs divorce w/ FCP I am back to cut a DigiBeta project over SDI and another over firewire (miniDV) SONY DV1500 deck.
After digitizing off of DigiBeta and cutting flawlessly the whole day uncompressed 10bit SDI material, I captured some footage from a miniDV tape over the sony DV1500 deck (DVCAM, MINIDV), weird enough, when in my timeline I hit play, I get an error message, you know those ones that notify you when your hard disk skips (5200rpm for example) or when your system isn't fast enough to handle this kind of stuff. On the timeline, above the clip there is some sort of light/pale yellow line. When I hit render all, nothing happens.
HELP pls!

NB: the miniDV project is a dif. one than the digibeta 10bit SDI one.

Thanks guys!

I think I know what's going on.

1. Your sequence setting don't match your footage settings. Change your Easy Setup to DV NTSC, create a new sequence, and your DV clips should playback fine in the timeline.

2. You can tell FCP what it should/shouldn't render and it sounds like FCP is set to not render Proxy footage (Proxy footage gets that pale yellow color in the timeline). Go to "Sequence" in the menu then "Render All" and "Render Selection" make sure there is a check mark next to "Proxy."
