Skin Tone Blowout On Export

Ahh! Help! I've tried exporting a clip using about a thousand different export and compressor settings, and everytime I get a funky blown-out skin color on my subject. I've tried "Export using Quicktime Conversion", "Export using Compressor"... and nothing seems to fix this.

Here's a screenshot of the issue: (incorrect exported color on the left, FCP correct view on the right)

Anyone have any ideas for this? Appreciate the help! Thanks, Franch

never trust what it looks like in the canvas window... it is not accurate. you can only trust how it looks on a broadcast monitor. if your exports look different than your calibrated broadcast monitor, then there is an issue.

Try opening quicktime, going to preferences, and under "General" check "Enable Final Cut Studio Color Compatibility". I'm thinking it has to do with your quicktime player, sometimes there is weird gamma shifts when viewing stuff in quicktime, so thats not nessecarily a good reference. You could try burning it to a DVD and play it on a TV. If none of that works, you could try dragging a broadcast safe filter on the clip in FCP and see if that works.

Cheers.
