Skater wheel angles question

For those of you who have built a skater already...
I'm about to build my own but am curious about something.

The original skater web site has software and charts on angles and distances for setting up the skater for a shoot.

Now, when I design/build my own, does the angle bewteen each of the 3 wheels make any difference?
For instance, do I have to put them at exactly 70/70/40 degree angles (or something) of eachother to match up with the original skater charts?
 
My opinion is that it won't change the way that the dolly operates, but if you're going to try to go off a formulaic calculation chart, it will be off. Why would you want to change the placement of the wheels?
