Sinking 2 audio tracks from 2 decks

I'm doing multicamera editing and want to sync the audio from two of the cameras. Is there a practical way of bumping the audio 1/1000th of a second at a time, so they sound as if they came from the same tape. As you can emagen if the best i can do is 1/30th of a second, you will never get rid of the echo.

Why are you using both audio tracks. You should only use one and sink the both pics to the one... That is why you use a claper board or a timecode slate.

ENG situation with two cameras. Each one with shotgun on different subject. Host has no mike. Currently running cable from "B" cameras shotgun to "A" cameras second audio channel. About to go wirles to send "B"s audio to the "A" camera. Wouldn't it be great to sink the audio of two decks... 4 channels at 16 bit... Joy... And who needs a clapper board any more when there's that button i just found in FCP that instantly lines all the camera angles up. It must be using the audio of all the cameras you've put in your time line and finding there similar characteristics to line them up, but that is still only accurate to 1/30th os a sec.

Zoom in as tight as you can to the audio track. You'll be able to put your curser at a subframe interval. I think... it's OPTION I will set THAT mark as your frame.

There's a way, but right now I forget... look up sub frame editing in the manual.

I'll dbl check when I get home.

soundtrack will let you get down to the sample (1/48000 sec.) i haven't tried it, but it should be simple to export both movs to soundtrack and nudge one or the other there.

Like to keep it in FCP if i can. I have many of them to do. But i gess i could get them all clise enough and then pull them all in at once. Cool

Here you go...

Send to viewer... then Zoom in and then with the A tool... shift click on the upper part of the viewer timeline. Shift click will let you slide the audio and will let you set the beginning of the frame anywhere inside 100th of a frame.... so that's 30K sample?

Good luck,

COOL. Got a fresh DVX100b showing up on the door step tomorrow, replacing my DVX80. So CaptainMench you just saved me a grand, I was about to pick up a wireless and a powered shotgun (adding 2" on the length of how far out the mic extends in frend of the camera)
Now i get to keep it simple and just run in to the camera.

But really all i want to know is... How'd ya load that image to your Avatar?

News flash. This is an interpretation from a roomer from a thread party heard at a party after 3 glasses of punch... New feature to the 100b... i just learned, you can sync all your 100b's internal clock first thing in the morning before the shoot. Then the time code refers to the clock as you go in and out of pause... In post they all share the same time code. I will save another $50 on a clap board.

Just found it at;
http://www.dvxuser.com/articles/100b/

"Here’s another first for a sub-$5,000 camera: the DVX100B has the ability to sync to external time code! Plug in any DV device into a DVX100B and it can force its time code to conform to the other device. This makes setting multiple cameras to identical time-of-day time code instantaneous and foolproof."

That means i can sync from my old DVX80... Joy, Happy...

Oh man, you one happy camper!!!

My favorite feature of the B is the ability to change the LCD to widescreen so you actually see what your anamorphic will look like!!

As for changing the avatar...

Go to the USER CP in the upper left of this window and change it there. I've got a jpg sitting on my website that I link directly to.
