Single Frame Effects

I have an interior nighttime scene with practical lightning effects outside the curtained windows. The lighting as was shot is very good, probably passable, but I'd like to pump up the brightness for a single frame each time the lightning strikes. What is the best way to do this?

Ideally, I would like to advance right to the frame and apply an effect. I have a feeling it will be more complicated. (I've already achieved the results on a single lightning strike with annoying amounts of effort involved. I''m hoping for a simple solution for the minute long scene.

Thanks much!

That's what I was afraid I'd have to do for them all. Do I have to rerender to bring them back together? Is it all just easier to group the clips?

Thanks for the help,

It's that, or keyframe the bright effect. But separating the frames, adding the effect to one, and then copying the effect to the rest is easier.

i'd just keyframe up the brightness, keyframe of normal to hold it, next frame is bright, next is a key of normal. Bingo and you can just copy the brightness keyframes and paste them along the clip where you need them.
