Sin City

J.R. Hudson

Spirit Animal
Apparently the recent Comic Con footage was removed from the net but did anyone else get a chance to see this footage from the film Directed by RR and Frank Miller?

If you didnt, you missed a JESSICA ALBA looking smokier than a bear.  Here is a Jpeg that doesnt nearly to the footage justice.

Re: Sin City

oh no a black and white movie but anything thats red is color. I wanted to do a movie like that. I actually almost did a music video like that...not that its original or anything..(cough cough...shindlers list.)

Re: Sin City

It's not just red. But the only isolate certain colors. It's been so long since I've read it, but there is a character with a yellow face, and it is yellow in contrast to the black and white in the movie.

That said, I AM SO FREAKIN EXCITED FOR THIS.

Re: Sin City

Nice! When I was growing up in the 80's, one of my favorites music videos was Belinda Carlisle's "I Get Weak", which did more or less the same effect. And look at Jessica! Robert Rodriguez is my hero!

Re: Sin City

geez..like every movie star in the world is in this movie. I looks really confusing to.

Re: Sin City

This could either be great or super-terrible. The visual style looks promising, but I'm not 100% sold on it yet.

It's shot on video, though, which is cool.

Re: Sin City

I am quite intrigued. RR is one of my idols so I'll for sure catch this flick, then eventually purchase... though I have reservations on how good it will be. Looked pretty cool (I didn't know it was that dark of a show. My niece was watching the trailer with me, and halfway through after Murphy mentioned cutting the pecker off I glanced over and noticed how mortified she was... I promptly suggested she not watch anymore).

Tarantino directed a scene in this for a buck.(just like RR scored Kill Bill 2 for a buck).

I thought he directed the one scene just to learn from Rodriquez Video techniques. He has no clue about video. So think about it people you all pretty much know more about Video and about digital filmmaking than Tarantino himself.

Re: Sin City

I was at the Comic con when Rodriguez spoke about this. He said Tarantino did on segment and that he loved video.

Re: Sin City

The story I heard was that he thought it was an interesting experience but wouldn't shoot on video again. I mean, QT's the guy who freaked out when he had to use one shot of digital wire removal in Kill Bill. He said some unrepeatable comments about CGI, too.

Oh, and Scorsese doesn't like video either but he thinks it's going to have a huge future in the industry. He's undecided regarding CGI, but used digital rushes in The Aviator and admitted that they made editing really fast.

"Rodriguez also told us about how he finally convinced his friend and fellow hot-shot movie director Quentin Tarantino to direct his features digitally in the future. Tarantino had always been against the idea, but apparently turned to Rodriguez after his day of filming digitally and said, “Mission accomplished.” He said that he was going to be shooting his next movie in digital, although he was still writing it now (hmmm, what movie is that?)"

Re: Sin City

Call me crazy! But I hope he does. I hope they all do!! Viva La Video revolution!!

The more people supporting it, and the better the movies, the more the technology will improve!!!

-I hope its the Vega Brothers!!

Re: Sin City

Is he still going to do the Vega brothers. The catering budget would be phenomenal considering the size of Travolta and Madsen these days.

How about a young version with two different actors like "dumb and dumberer". Actually get those two guys. I haven't seen the movie, but I'm sure they are great.

Re: Sin City

Dumb and Dumberer is one of the worst movies I've ever seen and almost undoubtedly the worst I've seen in theatres. Even Caligula was better!

Actually, that would be pretty funny, though...
