Sin City

C'mon this is every comic geeks dream movie. Frank Miller being translated to the screen in such a faithful sense, and even with him co-directing!!

I know a guy who worked on the compositing of this movie (it was all shot digital with green screen) and it looks like it'll maintain the violence of the books.

This may be one of the best comic movies yet. Thoughts?

Re: Sin City

Bob, fast one! ;D

You know, one of the things i love about Robert is that he does what he wants; no more, no less. It looks he´s not the kind of person who will follow some suit boys of big studios telling him to tame violence or no to be so explicit. Probably he would send them to hell, where they deserve to be... ::)

Maybe there will be a problem in mixing all the stories in just one film, like it looks he has done. But aesthetically (or whatever is writen (i don´t have my dictionary in hand)) the film will be awesome... And if it doesn´t work (i don´t believe it will happend, in my opinion it will be as big hit blockbuster as was Matrix (and everybody surprised... critics...)) He won´t care cos he did it for himself and his friends and the core fans...

It´s a hit. For sure. I hope it arrives soon to Spain. :'(

Re: Sin City

I'm addicted to the trailer. I'm more excited about this than I am about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Re: Sin City

I happened to see the trailer on a nice big screen at a Famous Players. I've been psyched for this for quite some time, but as I entered late into the theatre and walked into it on screen, i was throughly amazed at the unbelievable quality of the picture. I saw it up close, then walked up to my seat, say half way up, and it was still exquisite. Has HD finally made it up to the film standard? I remember as I watched Once upon a time in Mexico how I could tell it was digital, and that at certain points the difference really stood out, as it did somewhat in Collateral... but this looked so good, "better" than film, if I could go that far to exclaim how great i thought it looked.

I find it very cool how Rodriguez is co-directing this with Frank Miller. With the ego's that exist in the film industry, this is something special. I anxiously await... in the meantime I'll reminise on the movies I've seen so far this year... Electra, Alone in the Dark... ****, this one better be good or I may have to gouge my own eyes out.
