Sin City Effect

Re: Sin City Effect

You could do it with masks in vegas. but it would be a long and slow process

Re: Sin City Effect

alternately you could use an odd lipstick color. like say a green. remove all the other colors with the color corrector and then color correct the lipstick back to red.

Re: Sin City Effect

Well. It is quite EASY!!!!!!

You shot the scene without any reds except for the dress of the girl. You then open secondary color correction in vegas and you even have a preset called desaturate everything but reds!!!

Results are pretty good and you can then adjust for more adjusts!

Re: Sin City Effect

It's not as easy as you make it sound. Using the red example, there are reds everywhere, even if they're not obvious to you (especially on human skin). It takes quite a bit of practice to *really* get all of a color out of a scene.

Just making sure that's understood.

Re: Sin City Effect

I had no problems isolation red color. THe yellow is indeed more complicated. But red color is very easy to do.

The problem here is the DV compresion which affects more to the colors.

Here is a clip that i just did to show you the results.

miguel

your footage is of cars. Like David said it's a lot easier to isolate that than say reds, with skin tones.

As I suggested if you can use a colored green item it would be easier to isolate if you want to do something near skin. Then color correct it to red if that is what you want.

They yellow bastard in the Sin City trailer was actually shot blue and color corrected back to yellow in post.
