Simulating a War Zone in AE

That's unbelievably nice of you. If I don't know how to do something after reading all the books then I'll ask, but until then I think I'll just have to give it a try.

Thanks to everyone who responded for all the support.

Well, just so you know, those books aren't going to show you how to destroy New York City. They will show you techniques, principles, and theory.

Hlad to be of help. Also, for specifically AE, get Mark Christiansen's Adobe After Effects 7.0 Studio Techniques.

I know, for that I'm planning to use this tutorial to create a static background, and then add smoke, papers and maybe mask in some actual footage to get as realistic a shot as possible. I'm not planning to show the destruction in progress so it shouldn't be too dificult anyway.

Like you suggested I'm going to get AE Studio Techniques, and I've been watching the tutorials at wikivid.com (which is awesome!) for photoshop and AE.

After effects, Photoshop, and for the planes youll need 3D space so id use 3D's max or MAXON cinema 4D........ I use all three photoshop for mattes, textures, cinema 4D for modeling and comp all in after effecrts.....

Hope this helps
