Simple questions.

Thanks for the help.

I'd like to be able to connect RCA cables into my laptop or desktop to play a DVD player or other source into, so I can watch a movie on my monitor...Is there something I can buy?

Also...Is there a program out there that can smooth audio? Like between cuts so the audio doesn't jump? Or is that just getting more control of your set when recording? Does that make sense?

Thanks

Re: Simple questions.

First question: hmmm, I would think so.  Maybe a different video card?  Some laptops (like my wife's HP) have a video jack.  Then again, she has a kick ass 21 inch monitor that has video (s and rca) inputs that we hook a dvd player up to.

Edit:  wow, my response was really no help to you at all.  Sorry.

Re: Simple questions.

I know apple makes an RCA > USB (I think they used USB for that.) So I'm sure Someone makes ones for PCs as well.

You could use Encore.

haha, yeah, i'm glad you rubbed in my face how nice her computer was! ;D

Thanks TC I'll check out Encore.

Re: Simple questions.

Yea, well it's HER computer. She uses it for work. Although we did use the monitor on a road trip to minnesota. It was a cheap alternative to buying a portable dvd player for the kids.

Re: Simple questions.

Oh great and NOW you're going to start telling me all the places you go on vacation! geez ::) ;D

Re: Simple questions.

If driving to Minnesota from Denver with a wife and two kids in the winter is your idea of a vacation... well, you've got more problems than I do...;D

I just noticed you are from West Palm. I have some relatives down there. How is the post hurricane shake out going. (Not meaning to hijack the thread, just curious)

Re: Simple questions.

Ahh crap! Sorry IAL, I screwed up, I meant to suggest Audition. Not Encore.

Re: Simple questions.

thanks IAL!

Hey Jim, We're just about back to normal, I think we're one of the last houses still not to have DSL...(which sucks!)...they said it should be working today, but never did...Hope everything is cool with your relatives.

oh and just for the record...
well, you've got more problems than I do...
hmmm...how do I put this...I'm like a math book... ;)

Re: Simple questions.

My Uncle lost his whole trailer (sorry, "modular home") but they already have a new place. ANd it's not the kind you put up on blocks either! My other Aunt and Uncle were without power for a while, as were some of my cousins, but things appear to be getting better.
