Simple question

I normally shoot on 720pn HD on my hvx200, edit, and deliver the product as a full on a standard dvd when I do a wedding video.

I have a guy who just wants the raw HD footage unedited. Can I just burn the quicktime files as data on a DVD and will they still be HD files that he can edit how he pleases? On a external hard drive? Or is there a simpler way of going about this...Thanks.

I would suggest you forget the burning to DVD idea. That is alot of DVDs and A LOT OF TIME to burn and ingest on the other end!

Why not just give him a cheap external HDD like a 120GB USB bus powered drive? Quick and simple.

As for him being able to edit, it all depends on his NLE platform. Some people think they can edit any format, but are sadly mistaken when they get a professional codec used by Apple or Avid...etc. You might just want to findout what he edits on and what it will accept.

If both have macs - the easiest way to transfer footage it to restart one holding down "T" and then connect them with a FW800 cable. Drag and drop the footage like any other removable HDD.
