This is a silly question and I think I already know the answer

But, how do you zoom in/out with a 35mm adapter? Do you use the actual zoom on the camcorder?

What if the lens only adjust focus.

If you mean zoom in/out on your subject then you would have to have a 35mm lens that was a zoom and use that. Your camcorders zoom becomes obsolete with a 35mm adapter.

Not quite. Depending on the adapter you can have a limited range of zoom range into the GG. By working the zoom on the camcorder, you can approximate a zoom lens with a neligible loss in quality.

True, but unless your going for that look its probably not a good idea as the image kind of warps when you do it. As with anything you could use it to your creative advantage.

So for zooming in/out on the subject, you actually use your hand opposed to the FF unit.

Thats what I kinda figured. Do a lot of people just use their hand to zoom?

Well you need a zoom lens as well as a steady hand.

In my earlier days...that was the ony way.
