hey all - this forum rules...i greatly apprecaite the chance to soak up everyone's collective knowledge...just got me a dvx100b a couple of weeks ago so i've been learning alot here - thanks

i was just wondering about how many of the reality shows on tv these days are shot on dvx or hvx-type cameras...i was just watching that show "Intervention" on A&E and i coulda sworn i saw a fleeting glimpse of a dvx...

any feedback is appreciated...sound off...

Alot of shows use the DVX for secondery cameras and main cameras. A&E has a tone of stuff on it right now that is using the DVX and its big brother the SDX. They love 30p and 24p stuff. It is the look that alot of tv shows are going for right now. Back in the day it was kind of taboo to put 24p programing along with 60I programing. But that has gone by the way side. You use it to give a different look and catch your eye so alot of people are using it.

in my opinion, the dvx facilitated the jump of many cable series to dv format.

before the dvx, dv cameras were often used as b-cameras on a shoot, and production values on screen would really suffer in cases where it was anything more than that.
