Silly question but I just need to ask this

Hello All,

I'm wondering if there is a way to figure out if someone owns a video on YouTube? For example, someone sent me a video that they allegedly filmed of an unknown artist. All their other videos are hidden so I can't tell if this is similar to other work they've done. The artist [that was filmed] has a YouTube channel, but this video isn't posted on their channel. This seems strange since you would think they would want to share it after having had it made. I can check Metadata with still photography, but is there any way to check if someone on a particular date filmed a video or has ownership?

There are many artists, small and big, who have their "official" videos on the pages of the creators who could be legit production companies or small freelancers. (Although many of them also have it on their own pages which makes most sense.)

Best way would be to reach out to the artist if you're really trying to find out, but other than that you can only trust the person and/or research any websites/social media of theirs to see if you can find references to it.

FWIW, there are hundreds of YouTube accounts that showcase other people's work like camera tests and short films, but those usually have dozens of videos on their pages, many of which eventually get taken down.
