I am shooting an instructional dance video for my dance company, using the dvx100b and would like to shoot in 24p. Can anyone recommend a shutter speed as (obviously) motion blur has to be avoided at all costs.
We will be shooting in both indoor and outdoor locations.
no motion blur at all? That is relative to how quickly they will be moving.
But that will also depend on light availability
run some tests and see what works best for you, but if you want very static and choppy motion then just go as high as you can with the available light.
For something like a dance video, I wouldn't shoot with too high a shutter speed, as movement could result in an overly choppy effect. I think 1/100th or 1/120th at max would work well.
