Hey all -- been looking for a wireless lav in the $200-$300 range for the 7D.
Eventually, I just want to get the Sennheiser G3, but for right now it's just out of budget. So I looked at the Shure PG14 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Shure+-...076&skuId=7832269&st=shure wireless&cp=1&lp=1
It looks like a decent mic... has XLR outputs on the receiver and decent range at 300'
Not the best wireless lav in the world, but it should do for most of the stuff I do (weddings, sit-down interviews)
I'm wondering how people have used this with the 7D and the Zoom H4n.
The receiver doesn't have any on-board power and needs to be plugged in, so that (I think) eliminates the option of mounting it on a hot shoe. So how have you guys used this with your DSLR and the Zoom?
Also, is there a better option in the price range? Maybe one that you can mount to your hotshoe for mobile situations?
