Shrinking an actor: green screen question

Hello group:

I am helping a friend on a project about a girl who is accidently shrunk to doll size by her boyfriends experimental shrink ray. It's a funny idea my buddy came up with and he has approached me about helping him film it. Obviously it will require green screen to shrink the talent in post however in doing my tests I have been disappointed by the results. The tests have looked like when they film the weatherman in the news, it doesn't look organic. I realize we dont have the finance and resources of something like the effects of Alice in wonderland but I have seen some low no budget stuff that has looked really good. From what I have gathered is shooting the talent and the background in the same manner will help in blending them more organically. I also haven't figured out how to create shadows of the environment they are supposed to be standing in. Any help would be appreciated.

There's also a cool video on how they filmed the Mandalorian but that's literally out of this world.
 
Lighting is key to making the key effect look good. Basically you want an even flat light on the screen, back light and key, and fill on the talent. Try and keep green spill from the screen off the talent. And as the previous poster said there are tons of you tube videos on the subject. FWIW some of the weather man keys, where the weathermen are reporting from home during the pandemic look awful because the lighting isn't up to par.
 
I’d say perspective is the key to it looking good 90% chance you need the camera high and ideally far back

Think about you and a Barbie - rarely do you have the same eyeline unless you are crawling on the floor
 
Maybe outside in a flat day - cam up a ladder talent in a green cloth which you need to keep still with bricks or sand

If she is the size of a batbie you probably want the cam 20ft up with a telephoto
