I didnt know where to post this but I have been looking for one last sound for my movie when I guy gets hit with a shovel. I cant seem to find a decent one anywhere for free, I dont neccesarily want to pay money for a simple wave file. if anyone knows where I can find one please help. thanks

Cinematography?

Well there are sites online but I always have the most fun recording sounds myself. Have you tried hitting a shovel against a bag of potatoes?

Also, where does your actor get hit? The face doesnt have the same sound as the stomach. And, is he hit by the flat side of the shovel or is he impaled? These are all considerations. You'll get closer and closer to the sound you want if you combine sounds together. That's my experience.

yeah he is sitting in a chair and as he turns around he is hit in the side of the face with it

Whatever you end up doing, use the "audio" thread and not this one.

Try slapping the shovel hard against a naugahyde or leather sofa.
