Shoulder Mount

Consider this one. Let me know if you have any questions, I can sell it separate from ebay at a lower price.

But otherwise, I really like the Vocas Universal VCT shoulder mount. lower profile that the average universal shoulder mount. Very nice machining and craftsmanship.

The Wooden camera VCT shoulder mount is better than I expected, and it can be striped down to bare bones or build out indefinitely with a billion WC add-ons. But still feels like WC. Not the good feeling of Arri or Vocas.

Shape is solid, but not as affordable in the new or used market. (same goes for Tilta, they are just a tad pricey for what it is, but though shape may be a tad uglier than WC or Tilta, shape seems to be more durable, so it’s a wash.)

Arri Broadcast VCT is fantastically simple, and a wonderful base. The most lightweight one out there.

Smallrig makes an ugly one, but is very cheap and quite adaptable.

People seem to like Zacuto, but I never liked the feel of their gel pad, and the tightening knobs end up stripping, and screws coming loose or rusting. WC has the same stripping problem with not aging well, but not quite as bad as my Zacuto experiences.

Of course there are shoulder mounts that are not VCT, but anything with a manfrotto sliding plate base is going to have to be highly personal preference, or I just don't have good luck with figuring out a practical high speed solution.

+1 for the Shape VCT shoulder mount. The pad is way more comfortable than the Tilta pad. I personally think the Zacuto pad is the best, but I wanted something a little lighter since I'm carrying an Ursa Mini Pro. I haven't used the Arri one to compare.

If you don't want the camera on your shoulder, check out the VariZoom VZMEDIARIG. It looks pretty comfy especially if you're using a lighter, fixed-lens camera.

Have you used the VCT Pro? The gel is improved over the original VCT and I find it comfortable. I own both the old and new version. I honestly don't know how people live without gel. Arri is a hard rubber, and I just returned a Wooden Camera Shoulder Pad I bought because it was as hard as a rock (like the Arri one, but perhaps even harder). I use the Zacuto VCT Pro on my Arri Amira and couldn't imagine using that hard rubber version that Arri sells. My first shoot with a rented Amira it had the hard rubber and I had to use a separate shoulder pad harness on my body to keep comfortable, which ended up being a pain to constantly adjust or take on and off throughout the day.

I don't know if it's stripped, but the front rods on my Zacuto VCT are kind of stuck as they are, or, difficult to get in and out. It's a separate piece up front from the rest of the unit, so I suppose just that could be replaced, and possibly a third party one could be put there as well if the allen screws line up.
