Should I upgrade?

Hello, I currently use CS3 and have Prospect HD 3.4.8 on XP.

I would like to know whether I can and/or should upgrade to a newer version of Prospect HD and whether it is a good idea to upgrade to Windows 7 and/or CS4. We are about to start editing a large film and I need to upgrade before I start (if upgrades are a good idea).

My follow up question is:

My current work flow is to edit using the original Sony EX1 files and to render to Prospect HD the finished product prior to doing any more color correction and reframing etc. Is that the right way to proceed?

Thank you for the information.

When you work with Cineform CS4 isn´t the best idea, cause the whole thing is one bloody workarround. David had more than a hard time to implement Cineform to it.

Go Win7 because of 64bit
Get at least 8 GIG of RAM
Wait till mid April and get CS5 which is 64bit
Cineform will play nice in this enviroment.

cs4 is a very nice setup,....although 64-bit is better, xp sp3 is so much more stable, and less of a resource hog....

Should I install 7 in 64 bits or 32 bits? I don't want to loose compatibility with all my programs, especially CS3.

the cheap route is to get lots of ram and use cs4....or windows xp with lots of ram....i have windows xp sp3 and also have a 64bit xp as well...

As far as I know XP can only handle 4 Gigabytes. If I stay with CS3 is it a good idea to upgrade to Windows 7 to benefit from the extra memory and/or stability?
