Should I upgrade. This is a tricky question.
I currently use the following:
Premiere CS3
Cineform Prospect
Win XP
Pentium Quad Core Q9300
After editing and entire 2 hour movie on this configuration, there is still a lot of sound editing and rendering to be done.
I have three options:
(1) Leave everything as is and not change until the project is over.
(2) Just upgrade the processor.
(3) Upgrade to Win 7, and stick with CS3 + Cineform Prospect
(4) Upgrade to Win 7, add memory (Max 8 DDR2), and go with Premiere CS5 + Cineform NEO.
(5) Upgrade to Win 7, Replace processor to I7, add memory (12GB DDR3), and go with Premiere CS5 + Cineform Neo.
I don't want to lose all the effects I placed on the timeline under CS3 and I don't want to lose stability. I also heard the Cineform is not as stable under CS5 as under CS3.
What is my best move?
