Should I upgrade to FCS 5.1 or wait for 6.0?

I've heard that Apple will announce Final Cut Studio 6.0 at NAB in a few weeks. We have FCP 3.0 and want to upgrade to FCS, but I don't want to do it now if there's going to be another new version in a few weeks.

Any suggestions?

With the recent release of Final Cut Studio Universal, there's never been a better time to upgrade from a previous version of FCP.

Unfortunately, FCP3 only entitles you to a $699 upgrade price. Now, that's much better than the $1300 reatil, but still...

If I were you, I'd find a FCP 4 Upgrade version on ebay or craigslist. Make sure it's clean, and never been used to upgrade already. You might get one sealed in the box, for, say under $200. Then use your FCP 4 to qualify for the $199 upgrade. The upgrade from your stand-alone FCP3 to the full 5.1 FC Studio for $400?

Like I said, there's never been a better time to upgrade.

As far as FCP6, There's been some highly unreliable rumors about NAB, but I wouldn't put much stock in a major release this year.
