should I send flowers?

My brother-in-law was nominated for an acting award in L.A., but lost yesterday. I was going to send flowers if he won, but should I do it anyway as a consolation? Can't decide if it's too much or too ironic or something....

I don't know what your relationship is like but if my brother sent me flowers for losing I'd punch him in the arm for making fun of me.

The only time brothers should send flowers to each other is when one of them dies.

Just call him up and say, "Sucks you didn't win. But cool you got nominated.".

That's good enough.
