should I resave my project files once in awhile?

Should I resave my project once in awhile so that I have fresh project files. Like should I say have my first save be called say "Fun" and then when I save it again call it "Fun2" that way I have fresh project files and less chance of corruption?

you don't need to keep saving.

this is what the auto-save feature is for.
you set how often you want FCP to save and it keeps these projects in your auto-save vault.

But do drag the file over to a CD and burn it for protection every week or so.
