should I extract the soundfile first for noise reduction or clean it while editing?

I wouldn't go so far into the doom and gloom as sonofaresiii did he is kind of correct. You are not going to come up with great sound starting from where you did.

my advice came off a lot more negative than i intended it, but really, i was just trying to save the OP the hours among hours I spent trying to fix my own crappy audio only to make it worse and worse.

onofaresiii: I wouldn't say that. You have a valid point and valid concern trying to help me I appreciate very much

all the best

Using substandard equipment means you will need superior skills and technique to make up for the deficiencies of the inferior gear.
Better quality equipment does not replace skills or technique, it mitigates the difficulties of the job.
Solid/quality production sound only gets you half way there; it provides the material for a proper audio post, which is another technical skill set augmented by carefully selected equipment.

Audio is an integral part of your project, not an afterthought.

Very true.
You guys are so great, I'm so happy and lucky to get such insightful advice

Thank you for the advice I could never get in anywhere else, I reckon.

all the best

ps: I have another question not related to sound, if you can respond please:
