Should I buy it? ($40)

a friend of mine has a couple of trasg bags full of school uniforms (they look like private school uniforms), and he's trying to sell them. A lady sold them to him for basically nothing so he just took them

I was wondering, should I buy them from him and than write some sort of short film that's located at a private school? any ideas? It's like 3 trash bags full of maybe elementary/middle school uniforms

Because I know that amateur film makers should focus on what they have available when they're writing thier scripts and this seems like a good deal because I'll have Tue wardrobe for all the actors and the extras and it'll only cost me forty bucks

The thing that's making me hesitant is that I don't have any story yet where I could use these costumes, I would only be buying them because they're a good deal

:)

Use the costumes as inspiration. Or don't. But get on with it, either way. That's the only way you can possibly get anywhere. If you let something this tiny hang you up even to this extent, you'll find filmmaking impossibly daunting.

I have a rule, which has served me pretty well so far.

If I see something that could be used, and I have the money to afford it, I buy it.

Still kicking myself about that Airliner cockpit, though. (But I couldn't afford the transport.)

school kids with guns....I smell a hit! (...or maybe I.m just smelling the guy in the seat next to me in the airport?) Either way, how can you go wrong? Offer him $10.00 ;-)

depends if you have access to a school and 3 trash bags full of children to wear the uniforms.

buy them, then sell each uniform for 10 bucks in a garage sale or in bulk to a school....this is a good way to finance your next film....
