Can anyone suggest a reallygood condensor mic for a price of around $200 - im on an extreme low budget and all I have is an altech mic........which is not what I call a prosumer mic by any means. Thanks for any suggestions.

Do a search for the Oktava MC012 ($175US) and the Rode NTG-1 and NTG-2 ($250US). They are good mics for the price.
 
Try doing a search. This question has been asked a lot. There are a lot of opinions floating around, so there is more than ample information hidden within these pages.
