Shotgun Terminlogy - Hasta la vista baby

So basically Im down to the AT897 and the M66/K6.

Im a lil confused of some of the terminlogy:
the cardiod, super cardiod, line+gradient and etc.
Can you please tell me the dffereces of these?

Also on a personal note, Im leaning something very uni-directional. I have heard the M66 picks up on a wider area than the others, but I also believe that I am getting what Im paying for. Any suggestions and opinions? Thanks
