Shotgun mount for DVX100

I am using the shotgun mount that came with the camera and I am wondering if anyone has had any problems with the microphone slipping out even with the clamp securely tightened? I had to wrap my microphone with some gaffers tape just to build it up some so it wouldn't slip out of the holder/clamp. I may have to eventually get an aftermarket clamp to use.
 
I actually had the same problem when I was shooting with my school's audio technica. It seems that the mount is meant to work well for the panasonic shotgun they try to sell in kits, but with microphones with a slimmer handle, they dont fit the design perfectly. I used some paper and fitted that above and below the shotgun handle so that it would be more snug in the mount and then did as you did and used some gaffers tape to secure it there.
 
which audio tech do you have i have the at897 and i guess i just lucked out cuz ive tried pulling it out with two hands and it would not budge.

Well it's not mine, so I don't know exactly which model it was, but I think it might have been the at4071A.
