Shotgun Mics for DVX

Just recently purchased a 100A. Also purchased an Azden SGM-1X shotgun mic. I think the mic is too long because when I'm zoomed all the way out, I can see the tip of the mic in the view finder. I can mount the mic back towards the camera's handle but then it may get in the way if I'm shooting hand-held. I have half of the mic in the front of the camera and the other half hanging off the back. Which (inexpensive) mic can anyone recommend? Looking at the Sennheiser ME64. Any feedback on this mic. It seems to be a better fit for a camrea this size.

I'll look into this one. It actually looks to be about the same size as the Azden mic that I already have. I'll look it up on and compare demisions.

Hey Daniel ! I've got to design the whole wretched site... possibly in French *and* in English ! So that may take a little while... but I'll keep you posted. ;)

And stop making excellent suggestions like the one about that mic suspension... One more thing I'll have to bug Rush about ;D

Only problem with using the mount is I'll probably use a light mounted on top of the camera. Unless theres' an L-Bracket available that will allow me to mount the mic and light.
