Shotgun mic for rode blimp

I have an Azden SGM 1000 mic in my Rode Blimp , connected to a Ktek Avalon 89CC boompole. I wanted to know if there were any better shotgun mics that go for at least $400. I also own an AT897, and the pickup is low, so I was thinking about the other audio technicas, specifically these which you can't find video or audio samples on:

AT8015:

or the AT8035:

Anyone with any suggestions please leave comments!

Personally, I break audio equipment into 2 broad categories.

1. Beginner gear that can get the job done.
2. Professional level gear that can, at the very least, be used as a backup for your entire career.

The mic's you're currently looking at are, honestly, beginner gear. Everyone starts there, obviously, but once you've got a setup that "gets the job done", it's only worth upgrading if you can make the jump to "pro" level gear imho.

The cheapest shotgun that fits that category is an NTG-3 at $700 (similar to an MKH-416, famous for being bullett proof). And that's dirt cheap for pro mic, many standard mics for pros are over $2k.

Also, maybe this is just a personal thing, but it seems a little strange to say "find a mic for my great blimp." It's kinda like saying "I got these great tires, now what kinda of car should I put on them?"
