Shotgun mic choices...

okay then,
I'm at the point of buying a shotgun mic for my new DVX that will be attached to the body. I have narrowed it down to these 3:

Good choice, not too big, good sound.

I have the AUDIO TECHNICA AT897 and for the price it works well for me. However it is fairly long at 11"..

I've been using the AT897 for a couple months now and it's great. Haven't used the other two, but no complaints here on the AT897.

If I were you, I'd look into the Rode NTG-2. It's got great bass and is fairly directional. Check it out if you get the chance
