I'm looking for a new template for shot logs. We've got the footage on tape, logged as we went along..... now we're into selecting the takes for post production. Direction to a good website with shot log templates appreciated......

B.T.W. -- I found a new software for storyboarding, FREE download, from Apple -- It's called Directors Boards. Sorry to say I found it after we did the shoot. Have you used it? What did you think of it?

The storyboarding software is not from Apple but from a third party developer. The product is offered on both Mac and Windows.

As far as logging templates, it all depends on what you are trying to do with it as well as what NLE you will be using in post production. Each of them have slightly different formats they can take.

Some people log in Excel and export TAB files
Some people log in FileMaker Pro and export TAB files

If on Avid, people will use MediaLog
If for Avid or other NLE's people also use Executive Producer logging solutions:

Log sheets- I made my own in excel and taped it to the back of clapper board.
scene #, take #, start, end timecode, comments, good, etc

You can do a google for typical log sheets or check with a local lab.

I just stumbled on this thread, but sonnyboo.com has a ton of free downloads from storyboard templates to everything else that you could possibly want. They end up coming in really handy in most situations.
