Shot List: Bathroom Sink

Hey all,

Here's an attempt to take what might normally be a boring shot (a bathroom sink) and spice it up with lighting and a camera move. I'm interested in your comments as well as your version of a similar shot (comment and attach your video on YouTube if this inspires you at all).

Thanks!

for me the light from under the sink was definitely from an unnatural position, but the light switch accent light worked wonders and I think the entire idea of showing the differences (good or bad) is amazing and could definitely help a lot of us here :) if I have some time I'll try and get one up soon too, it would be neat to see the various takes on this

My comment about the under the sink light, is I would have probably directed it more towards the wall, maybe even shaping the light with black wrap to just get enough light to show detail in the plunger area, but not have as bright a light as to cause a sharpish shadow of the plunger handle on the toilet tank.

I'd also wrap the spot to soften or eliminate the hotspot on the wall socket. I don't have a problem with the other highlights as they 'appear' to come from an ordinary, albeit enhanced soft bathroom light...

While I don't know if porcelain shooting is my bag... baby... I do have a bathroom shot from a short I did about a year ago. I'll see if I can get a clip or a still.

Nice shot, I suggest trying different color balance options of the lights, especially the hidden one.

I'm including this post here as an inspirational addition to normally "boring" bathroom shots/scenes.

Probably my favorite bathroom scene ever shot.

Enjoy the craft with that clip :)

P.S. Notice you don't see camera in the mirror! Very clever trick they used.
