Hey all,

A question that pertains to the nuts and bolts of film production and directing:

I'm going to be creating a shot list soon for a feature project, and I would like whatever list I create to be easily used by the 1st/2nd AD's to create call sheets.

Can anyone recommend a good combination shot list / call sheet software or excel templates that offer integration of one's shots into the call sheet easily?

Thanks.

Celtx has a 'call sheet' feature in the 'Production Scheduling' feature. While it 'automatically' lists characters which have a dialog line in a scene, it does not automatically include other characters which may be in the scene, but have no speaking part. One has to manually identify each such character, even if the character does have speaking parts in other scenes.

There is no 'shot list' capability for the standard 'narrative' script format. One would have to do that either with 'notes', or 'index cards', which celtx has, but doesn't generate a 'nice' shot list line by line.

For a commercial product, there's "Movie Magic Scheduling", and from the brief description, seems to have Final Draft XML import, which is a benefit for those who use FD.

Don't know how well it works with "Movie Magic Screenwriter"...
