Shot in 1080 24 but is being read as 30fps

Hi there everyone,

I shot some footage with a HVX200 onto some P2 cards at 1080 24fps but when I load it into FCP it tells me it is 29.97fps. Anyone know why this is happening? Also when I load clips into the timeline they are interlaced. I thought 24fps meant there was no interlacing.

Sounds like you shot 24p rather than 24pA...

That may be so. So.. does that mean I cant read it as 24fps?

I don't think you shot in 24pA , otherwise it would have removed the pulldown.
Shoot in 24pA & see if it works

Heh- thanks for the link Capt. Yes it sounds like 24p rather than 24pA. That's not a huge deal- unless you wanted to do a film output or 24p native DVD. In that case you'll need to remove the pulldown manually via Cinema Tools.
