OK.. i shot some footage in 24pa, editing with premiere pro 2.0 .. a bunch of it is sped up / slowed down for various reason and i notice that i see interlace tearing .. i didnt notice while editing but i just rendered and previews full-screen and it's all over the place. I thought that shooting in a progressive mode meant never having to see that awful combing
what am i doing wrong?

I would guess the speeding up/slowing down. Progressive footage doesn't handle it very well. Premiere probably just starts interpolating frames which might cause interlacing.

What is your editing timebase? You might want to mess with the flicker removal or frame blending options. Generally, if you are wanting to timeshift clips, it is best to shoot them in 60i

ash =o)

well the thing i dont like about frame blending is everything starts looking blurry...if the footage was shot in progressive frames, wouldnt changing its rate just double up or half the framerate or whatnot??

No, because the extra information isn't there to start with. 60i actually contains more information than 24p so you can double the field, but with progressive, doubling the frame just means duplicating every frame again, and that looks crappy.
