shortcut restoring split audio in timeline?

i'm working on a documentary so i've been doing a lot of edits where i end up deleting the clips audio and using an interviews audio instead....

i was wondering if there is an easy short cut to restoring a fragment of audio from a clip cut multiple times. To be clear...i'm trying to restore the original audio to a clip that I have put two or three seperated segments of into the timeline, without actually bringing in the entire clip again and trying to line up the corresponding parts of audio. Does that make sense? Thanks

Sure it does... Very simple... Select the clip on the timeline, press ' f '.
Your source clip will be opened in the Viewer, showing the in and out points. Just drag the clip from the Viewer to timeline....I hope this was your question...
 
Perfect! I knew there had to be an easy way...trying to figure out how to search that in the help manual was ridiculous though. Thanks so much. You saved me about 5 hrs worth of work!
