Short video with G35 and sony PD150

very nice! are you using the monitor upside down? or does the camera have a built in flip function?

how do you like the g35?

what lenses did you shooot with?

is the g35 simple to set up?

again.. nice work.

Thank you for your positive comments. The G35 doesn't flip the image but focusing with the camera lcd would have been a nightmare anyway. I used an external SWIT LCD monitor that flipped the image. The lenses were Nikons 20mm f2.8; 28mm f2; 50mm f1.2; 85mm f1.4; 180mm f2.8.

The G35 is great, very easy to set up and very robust. It weighs quit a it though, and I regretted non having an adequate tripod.

what's the total weight of your rig?

what tripod are you using?

did you shoot available light?

it's nice to see craftsmen at play/work!

I use Zacuto base plate and rods, with an arm for the monitor. Depending on what lens I use (the 180mm is really heavy) the rig can weigh more than 5 kg. I used a Vinten Pr o 6 which can take maximum 6kg and it was a nightmare to pan with it.

Man, the pd150 sure does still look good:)

I guess that its low light performance goes well with the G35, for this I used a 4 tube fluorescent panel, which was normally my key light, and two Arri 800W tungsten. I also used available light whenever possible. One thing that I learned is never to use the in camera NDs for exteriors.

Very well done. One of the nicest standard def pieces I've seen here in a while. I think you're sets were well art directed :) which makes the piece so much nicer than shooting in a room with white walls.

Thank you. Most times I used the existing sets, a few times I rearranged things. I mainly worked on camera angles, composition and light. It is true though that a good, interesting background makes a difference.
