Ladies amd gentelement,
I've been wanting to run short movie contest in my area. To me, doing so will help my business grow because the will know me more. I've been gathering some clips from other sources how to run it but the only thing I need to know is how to write a letter to a potential local sponsor. Writing a killer letter is not my strong point. This contest will be totally depends on the sponsorship. I have no money to do it. I am just a new home DVD editing business. So, if you don't mind to help me on this I appricated.
Also I need to know more about what I do with the movies when the contest done. Please don't laugh at me.

tolakvoa, the best thing to do is to ask someone who has done one. Do a search of the differnet filmfest contest out there and send an email to the person in charge. Ask them. I'm sure theres a lot information on the net about how to start your own filmfest contest.

Draw up a proposal (you can find great "how to" info on the net) and approach some of the larger businesses in your area. All you wil need out of the gate is a few thousand dollars. A guy started a film festival close to where I live, and screened everthing at the local community center. It was succesful enough to continue next year.
