Short keyword searches

Is it possible to let the search function search for select key words?

I've gotten this error often:
"The following words are either very common, too long, or too short and were not included in your search:"

My assumption is that it is too taxing on the forum to do a search for "the" so the search doesnt bother to include that in the querey. But could we get the ability to search for terms like "P2" or "EVF"?

I think there are a bunch of video related terms / words / abbreviations that you can't use in a game of scrabble, would be helpful to be able to search for, but currently can't.

unfortunately, words like "p2", and "evf" would also be far too common on this site, and would put unnecessary load on the server.

I would recommend a google site search. The search function for vbulletin is not that good anyway. But, using it in conjunction with a google site search, can be helpful.

The only time I've found this lack of ability frustrating is when trying to search for "GH2" in the marketplace.
But I can agree with Jason that the search function isn't that great. Many times it fails to find threads I know exist.

Thanks Jason, that is what I assumed, but am disappointed. The google option is nice, but the results aren't as nice.

So if I'm just looking for EVF for a AF100, I'm getting hits from the entire site. (Which is what I think ASchear is talking about too.) I can do a google search of "GH2 site:http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/forumdisplay.php?17-For-Sale-or-Want-to-Buy" and only get hits in the marketplace, but it is sorted like google hits. Doesn't sort by post date or show threads that are locked (sold), FS or WTB.

If it isn't too much of a tax on the server, I think it would be great to have short word searches for a sub forum only. From google it looks like there are 8,740 hits for EVF on the entire DVX site, but only 877 in the marketplace. So to me that reads as a 90% savings of server load.

Again, I'm grateful for the site & how well it works, but just would think it would be even better to have that added feature.
