We will select one monthly winner from each category who will receive a $1,000 cash prize. The four category winners will be eligible for the Grand Prize: $5,000 in cash and a Panasonic HD Camcorder.

Yea, but there are specific dates for each category. There are four categories (animation, documentary, music, live action fiction)...one per month. You can only enter once per category. Each month a different category will be accepted/judged, then the winners of each of the four categories are put into the drawing for the Grand Prize.

At least that is how I understand it. It seems like they will accept anything, even previously created work...just so it is original with you and fits the category.
